Parental Consent and Special Cases:

Exceptions: Skincare treatments are allowed for minors 13 and older with parental supervision during the entire duration of the visit.

Special Circumstances: In certain situations, such as medical conditions requiring massage therapy for minors, clients are advised to seek services from specialized pediatric massage therapists who are trained and certified to work with individuals under 18 years of age.

Code of Conduct for Massage Therapy Clients

At Baum Skin & Body, we are committed to creating a respectful and safe environment for both our clients and therapists. To ensure a positive therapeutic outcome, we kindly ask that you adhere to our code of conduct:

Communication:
Please inform your therapist of any pain, discomfort, or specific areas you would like them to focus on or avoid. The pressure and techniques will be adjusted to ensure your comfort.

Consent:
You have the right to give informed consent regarding the areas of the body being worked on and any adjustments needed during the session.

Professional Therapeutic Services:
Our massage therapy sessions are intended for professional therapeutic purposes only. Our therapists are highly trained and dedicated to providing a therapeutic experience. We do not tolerate any requests or actions of a sexual nature. If such behavior occurs, the session will be terminated, and payment will be due in full regardless of the session's completion.

Respectful Behavior:
Respectful and professional behavior is expected throughout the entire massage session. Any inappropriate gestures, harassment, or ill-mannered behavior will not be tolerated. If such behavior occurs, the session will be terminated, and payment will be due in full regardless of the session's completion.

Confidentiality:
We value your privacy. Any personal information will be kept confidential in accordance with professional ethical standards and legal requirements.

Hygiene:
We request that you arrive for your session in a clean, odor-free state. If you have any contagious conditions or infections, please inform your therapist prior to your session so that necessary adjustments can be made.

Cancellation Policy: We understand life sometimes gets in the way of appointments. We have a strict 24 hour cancellation policy in effect. Your appointment must be cancelled 24 hours before your appointment time to avoid a cancellation fee of payment of 50% of total service. Any rescheduling must take place 24 hours before your appointment start time to avoid any fees. If your cancellation is under 24 hours, you may transfer your scheduled time to a family member or friend. No refunds are available.

Massage Therapy is a profession in which the practitioner applies manual techniques, and may apply adjunctive therapies, with the intention of positively affecting the health and well-being of the client. Massage Therapists do not diagnose or prescribe for medical conditions nor are they allowed to provide treatment for a specific condition without a doctor’s supervision.

Massage therapist are required to refer you for diagnosis and to follow recommendations of your physician.

How often should I get a massage?

The frequency of massage will depend on a variety of factors. If your massages are purely for relaxation, a session every 4-6 weeks is recommended.

When should I not get a massage?I

f you are currently experiencing flu-like symptoms or are experiencing an outbreak of a contagious skin condition, please reschedule your massage therapy visit for a time when you are feeling better. If you are pregnant, have cancer, suffer from blood clots, have recently undergone major surgery, or have any other known medical conditions, please call us to determine whether a massage is right for you.

Do I have to undress completely?

We want you to feel completely comfortable and relaxed during your session. Your level of undress is completely up to you. You will be allowed to change in privacy and your modesty is maintained throughout your session.

Do I have to cover myself with a sheet?

Yes, draping your body with a sheet is mandatory by state regulations. Typically, any part of your body not being worked on will remain covered by a sheet during the entirety of your massage therapy session.
